Windows OS Handsets
Today’s mobile phones are more feature packed than ever. What’s interesting is that the impressive features and operating systems we see today, including the Apple, Android, and Windows operating systems, they are almost yesterday’s technology. I say that because we can only use and experience what’s available to buy right now but behind the scenes the major mobile phone companies are working on the latest and greatest technology which will surpass what’s available now. One of the greatest innovations, and one that had its day coming, is the introduction of the Windows OS handset.
For example, the HTC Touch Pro 2 is one of the latest phones to have the Windows OS in the UK. It has a large 3.6 inch TFT display and includes the accelerometer sensor which allows for auto-rotation and a QWERTY keyboard. Under the bonnet so to speak it includes the Microsoft Windows Mobile 6.1 Professional OS which allows for reading Word, Excel, PowerPoint and PDF documents. This is ideal for the busy professional as well as the student user.
Another great phone is the Motorola Q 9H which also has the Windows Mobile 6.0 Standard OS. A somewhat smaller phone, it has a 2.4 inch TFT screen and incorporates GPRS and EDGE technology. Samsung’s Omnia2 and Saga also use the Windows OS and each phone boasts its own unqiue features. Obviously the iPhone runs on the Apple OS but since Microsoft still dominates the PC world, having a Windows OS handset makes these types of mobiles ideal for almost every user.
